TKP reacts to NATO-related detentions

The TKP issued a statement regarding its members who were detained during a police crackdown on a march organized by the party against NATO in Ankara.
The statement included the following remarks:
"During the police violence against TKP members protesting NATO for an 'Independent Turkey' in Ankara, seven of our friends sustained severe head injuries, some of our friends suffered fractures to their arms and rib cages, and one friend was taken for an angiogram due to a suspected heart attack.
We are closely monitoring the condition of our comrades who were injured and detained. Those in custody must be released immediately!"
