Tragedy in Beyoğlu: 1-year-old baby loses life
A fire that broke out in the ground floor of a two-story building in Beyoğlu in the early hours of the morning led to a tragedy. While 2 people were injured in the incident, a 1-year-old baby lost their life. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
Near the morning hours in Beyoğlu, flames rose from the ground floor of a 2-story building located on Ufak Köprü Street in the Sururi Mehmet Efendi neighborhood. Upon the notification of local residents who noticed the heavy smoke, police, medical, and fire department teams were dispatched to the area for the incident, which started for reasons yet to be determined.
With the intervention of the fire department, 2 people inside were rescued and handed over to medical teams. However, a 1-year-old baby who was in the house remained trapped in the flames and lost their life.

Following the flames, which were brought under control as a result of the teams' efforts, cooling operations were carried out. Crime Scene Investigation teams, who arrived at the scene after the incident, conducted a detailed examination on the ground floor.
The body of the baby who lost their life was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for the necessary examinations. The investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
