Tragic accident in Beyoğlu, Istanbul: 1 person trapped under tram
Mustafa Ayan, who was struck by a tram at the Tophane stop, was rescued by fire crews and taken to the hospital. It was reported that the injured person remains in critical condition.
In an accident on the T1 Kabataş-Bağcılar Tram Line in Beyoğlu, a 79-year-old man named Mustafa Ayan was struck by a tram while attempting to cross the tracks. The incident occurred at the Tophane stop when Ayan became trapped under a tram traveling in the direction of Karaköy.
Following the accident, police, medical, and fire crews were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters rescued the injured man from where he was trapped and handed him over to medical personnel. Ayan, who received initial treatment at the scene, was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
THE INJURED PERSON IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION
While tram services experienced brief disruptions due to the incident, operations returned to normal after the teams completed their work. It was learned that the injured person is in critical condition.
The moment of the accident and the rescue efforts by the fire crews were recorded by a bystander using a mobile phone camera.
