Tragic incident at Marmaris Public Beach: Lifeless body found on the sea surface

Citizens arriving at the Public Beach in the Marmaris district of Muğla in the morning hours noticed a person lying motionless on the surface of the sea. Coast Guard teams dispatched to the scene upon notification determined that the unidentified male, estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old, had passed away after pulling him from the water. It is suspected that the unfortunate man may have entered the sea to swim and subsequently drowned.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning at the Public Beach, caused great sadness and activity in the area.

CITIZENS NOTICED AND REPORTED THE INCIDENT

The incident took place in the early hours of the morning at the Public Beach, one of the busiest areas in Marmaris.

Citizens arriving at the beach in the morning noticed someone lying motionless on the surface of the sea near the shore.

Upon the citizens noticing that the individual was not moving and reporting the situation, the Coast Guard South Aegean Group Command and medical teams were dispatched to the area under the coordination of the 112 Emergency Call Center.

COAST GUARD TEAMS PULLED THE BODY FROM THE SEA

The teams affiliated with the Marmaris Coast Guard Command, who reached the scene in a short time, reached the individual in the sea at approximately 06:25.

In the initial examination of the person who was taken onto a boat and brought to shore by the teams, it was determined that he had lost his life. It was identified that the deceased was a male between the ages of 35 and 40.

DROWNING IS SUSPECTED  

A detailed investigation was carried out at the scene by the Public Prosecutor and crime scene investigation teams.

No identification documents or personal belongings were found on the body. In line with the initial findings, the possibility that the individual had entered the sea early in the morning to cool off or swim and drowned has gained weight.  

The body was taken to the Marmaris State Hospital Morgue for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and to complete identification efforts. A comprehensive investigation launched by the police and Coast Guard teams regarding the incident is ongoing.
