Travelers going abroad can pay the new departure fee before August 12
The Revenue Administration has issued a statement regarding the new international departure fee that will take effect on August 12. The international departure fee, which was 150 TL, had been increased by 233 percent, raising the fee to 500 TL.
The Revenue Administration (GİB) has enabled the payment of the 500 lira international departure fee, which will be effective from August 12, to be made before this date, provided that the travel date is specified.
In a written statement from the GİB, it was recalled that the departure fee to be paid by citizens traveling abroad from August 12 (including this date) has been set at 500 lira.
The statement noted that to prevent citizens traveling abroad from that date onward from experiencing difficulties at border crossings, it has been made possible to pay the fees without waiting for August 12, and the following was recorded:
"In this context, for departures abroad to be made from 00:00 on August 12, 2024, the 500 lira fee payment can be made before this date at tax offices or through the Digital Tax Office's web application at dijital.gib.gov.tr by specifying the travel date."
