Trial date set for Ekrem İmamoğlu's case
The trial date for the 'ugly politics case' involving Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been announced. The first hearing will take place on February 27, 2026, at the Bakırköy Courthouse.
The indictment has been accepted by the Bakırköy 33rd Criminal Court of First Instance in the case filed against CHP presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been detained at Silivri Prison since March 23, regarding his remarks to AKP Beykoz Municipal Council Member Serkan Şahin: "Continue your ugly politics, you are quite ugly." It was reported that the first hearing of this case will be held on February 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Bakırköy Courthouse.
