Trilateral summit in Baghdad: Joint message from Iraq, Iran, and Syria

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh met at a trilateral meeting held in Baghdad. The meeting addressed the situation in Syria and cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

'THEY ARE TRYING TO DIVIDE THE COUNTRY'

Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh stated that the conflicts in their country are externally supported, saying, "We need more international support against attempts aimed at dividing Syria."

'WE MUST DEFEND SYRIA'

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that Syria's security is of vital importance to the region: "To defend our own country, we must defend Syria. In this regard, we will continue our support for Syria."

MESSAGE OF PEACE FROM IRAQ 

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein drew attention to the effects of the situation in Syria on the region, stating, "We must strengthen regional cooperation to keep Iraq away from wars. We will soon propose a broad-based diplomatic meeting in Baghdad."
