TRT cancels Tuna Kiremitçi's appearance over 'election joy'

While the CHP emerged as the leading party in the elections for the first time in 44 years, the AKP lost an election for the first time in 22 years. Following these results, author and singer Tuna Kiremitçi, who shared his joy, faced sanctions from TRT due to his reaction.

TRT, which was criticized for not giving space to the opposition front outside of the People's Alliance during the election campaign period, has made another move after the election that is set to draw significant criticism.

Musician Tuna Kiremitçi announced that TRT canceled his program appearance because he was happy that the opposition won the election.

In a post on his social media account, Kiremitçi stated: "The program I was invited to on TRT 2 has been canceled by an order from above because I was happy about the election results. Are we surprised?"

Not stopping there, Kiremitçi shared a short video from years ago when he was a guest on TRT and added the following note:

"Dear TRT officials... I first appeared on TRT 25 years ago and was honored. It is fine if I never appear again from now on. Let the youth appear. But please, do not forget that you are an institution of the state and the nation, not of a party."
