Truck carrying military equipment overturns on Bolu Mountain pass: Traffic to Istanbul halted

A truck, whose driver's information has not yet been shared, lost control and overturned in the early hours of the morning at the Bakacak location on the Bolu Mountain pass of the D-100 highway. It was alleged that the containers on the truck's trailer contained military ammunition.

Following the accident, numerous teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams, which increased security measures, closed off the area with a security cordon from approximately one kilometer back to prevent vehicle and pedestrian access to the scene.

The teams, which completely closed the Istanbul-bound direction to vehicle traffic, made controlled diversions to alternative routes to prevent long vehicle queues. With the road closed to transportation in the Istanbul direction, there was a short-term density in traffic.

While the investigation into the accident continues, civilian vehicles and citizens were not allowed to enter the area for security reasons.
