In a traffic accident in Konya involving a truck that hit a parked semi-truck and a passenger bus, 3 people lost their lives and 33 were injured.
In Konya, a truck with license plate 42 APA 376, whose driver has not yet been identified, struck a semi-truck with license plate 42 BAG 845 parked on the side of the road at the entrance to the Ilgın district on the Afyonkarahisar-Konya highway.
At that moment, a passenger bus with license plate 42 TC 903 belonging to the Özkaymak company also struck the truck from behind.
Upon notification by bystanders, numerous police, gendarmerie, 112 Emergency Health, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident.
In the accident, 3 people lost their lives and 33 people were injured.
It was learned that among the injured, who were transported to hospitals in the city by ambulance, were 6 fencing athletes who were participating in an event in Konya.
In a statement regarding the accident, the Konya Governor's Office noted the following:
"Following the accident in which 3 people lost their lives and 33 people were injured, 112 Emergency Health, fire department, AFAD, gendarmerie, and police teams were immediately dispatched to the region. Our injured citizens have been transported to various hospitals and taken under treatment. An investigation into the accident has been initiated. We wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in this tragic accident and a speedy recovery to our injured citizens."
