Trump announces ceasefire: Tehran denies it

Former US President Donald Trump claimed that the clashes between Iran and Israel, which have escalated in recent days and caused great concern worldwide, have ended. In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated, "An agreement has been reached for a full and complete ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Congratulations to everyone."

In his statement, Trump said that the war would be considered "ended at this point," adding that Iran would initiate the ceasefire and Israel would respond 12 hours later. Arguing that the war would officially end at the conclusion of this process, Trump stated that the conflict should be called the "12-Day War."

Trump included the following statements in his post:

"This war could have lasted for years and destroyed the entire Middle East. But it didn't, and it won't. God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the USA, and God bless the world."

Additionally, in a phone interview with NBC News, Trump expressed his satisfaction with the end of the clashes, saying, "It's a great day for America. It's a great day for the Middle East. I'm happy I was able to get the job done." Trump added that he believes the ceasefire will be "unlimited," meaning it will last forever.

IRAN: THERE IS NO CEASEFIRE

A denial from Iran came shortly after Trump's statement. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized in a post on his social media account that no agreement had been reached with Israel regarding a ceasefire or a cessation of military operations in any way.

Araghchi noted the following in his statement:

"As Iran has stated repeatedly, Israel has declared war on Iran; not the other way around. As of now, there is no agreement on any ceasefire or cessation of operations. However, if the Israeli regime stops its attacks until 4 a.m., we may stop responding. The final decision will be made later."

EXPLOSIONS IN TEHRAN AND AIR DEFENSE ACTIVATED

Immediately after Trump's ceasefire announcement, sounds of explosions were heard in the Iranian capital, Tehran. According to an AA reporter, air defense systems were activated in the city.

It was reported that the Iranian capital was placed on high alert. Iranian sources stated that a new attack was carried out by Israel and that some targets were hit.

IRAN'S UAVS SHOT DOWN

The Israeli military, in an announcement made shortly after the ceasefire statement, declared that four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) sent from Iran had been shot down by Israeli air defense systems. The statement noted that the UAVs were neutralized before reaching the country.

According to reports in the Israeli press, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed ministers not to make public statements regarding developments with Iran following the cabinet meeting.

Following the expanded political cabinet meeting, a smaller security cabinet convened. No official statement was made regarding the content of the meeting.

 SIREN SOUNDS RISE

The Israeli military announced that a new missile attack from Iran had taken place. The statement reported that the missiles were directed at various cities and that air defense systems had been activated.
