Trump slams Biden over attack on US base: 'If I were president...'
Former US President Donald Trump, regarding the drone (UAV) attack on US forces at a military base on the Jordan-Syria border, stated: "This brazen attack on the United States is yet another horrific and tragic consequence of (US President) Joe Biden's weakness and surrender."
Former US President Donald Trump shared a post on the Truth social media platform regarding the drone attack on US forces at a military base on the Jordan-Syria border.
Stating that the attack, which resulted in the deaths of 3 US soldiers at the military base on the Jordan-Syria border, emotionally wounded many people and that today is a "terrible day" for the US, Trump conveyed his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers.
Trump used the expression, "This brazen attack on the United States is yet another horrific and tragic consequence of (US President) Joe Biden's weakness and surrender," and claimed that 3 years ago, Iran was "weak, broke, and totally under control."
Referring to the impact of the "Maximum Pressure" policy he stated he implemented while in office, Trump said, "The Iranian regime could barely scrape together 2 dollars to fund their terrorist proxies."
"IF I WERE PRESIDENT, THIS ATTACK WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED"
Claiming that Biden gave billions of dollars to Iran, Trump argued that Iran used this money to carry out "slaughter and destruction" in the Middle East.
Trump assessed, "If I were president, this attack would never have happened."
Claiming that if he were still in office, the events of October 7, 2023, or the Ukraine-Russia War would not have occurred, Trump stated that the world is also "on the brink of World War III."
Underlining that the drone attack is proof that his country must urgently return to a policy of "peace through strength," Trump pointed out that this is necessary not only to avoid chaos and slaughter but also to ensure that Americans do not lose their lives.
At the end of his post, the former President stated, "Our country cannot survive under Joe Biden as commander-in-chief."
DRONE ATTACK ON US FORCES
According to a written statement from the White House, Biden had said, "Last night, 3 US service members were killed, and many wounded, during an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack on our forces stationed in northeast Jordan, near the Syria border."
Stating that they are still gathering information about the attack, Biden had declared, "We know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq."
Noting that those responsible for the attack will be held accountable at a time and in a manner of the US's choosing, Biden emphasized that they will continue the fight in this war.
In a written statement from the US Central Command (CENTCOM), it was stated that 3 US soldiers were killed and 25 people were injured as a result of a one-way drone attack in northeastern Jordan.
The Jordanian government, however, announced that the attack on US forces did not take place on its territory but at the al-Tanf base on the Syrian border.
