Trustee appointed for 10 companies affiliated with Assan Group: Known for closeness to Bahçeli
Following the arrest of former MKE President İsmet Sayhan, the investigation had expanded with new detentions. Now, a trustee has been appointed to 10 companies operating under the Assan Group.
Detention warrants had been issued for Assan Group owner Emin Öner and company general manager Gürcan Okumuş on charges of membership in the FETÖ armed terrorist organization and military espionage.
According to a report in Sözcü, a trustee has been appointed to 10 companies operating under the Assan Group.
Öner and Sayhan were known for their closeness to Bahçeli.
The statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is as follows:
"As a result of ongoing investigations within the scope of military espionage probes recently conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and known to the public;
Regarding suspect Emin Öner, the owner of companies operating under the name ASSAN GROUP, and company general manager Gürcan Okumuş, their connections to the FETÖ armed terrorist organization and military espionage activities have been identified. Taking into account the importance of the business sectors in which they operate, detention warrants have been issued for the suspects on charges of membership in an armed terrorist organization and military espionage, and the individuals were taken into custody today. Search operations at their residences and workplaces are ongoing. Furthermore, the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) has been appointed as trustee for the (10) companies operating under the ASSAN GROUP. The investigation is continuing in a multi-faceted manner."
