Tuğrul Türkeş to visit Kavala and Gezi detainees
A new development has occurred regarding the "Osman Kavala" crisis between AKP MP Tuğrul Türkeş and Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç. In a statement on the X platform, Türkeş announced that the Ministry of Justice has granted permission for the visit to Kavala and that the visit will take place as soon as possible.
AKP Ankara MP Tuğrul Türkeş has made a new statement regarding his request to visit Osman Kavala. Türkeş stated, "Regarding the subject of visiting the detained defendants of the Gezi Park Case; verbal approval has been given by the Ministry of Justice to our application. The visit will be carried out as soon as possible. Respectfully announced to the public."
WHAT HAPPENED
Türkeş had previously stated that he would visit Osman Kavala, who was convicted in the Gezi Park case, as well as other convicts. Following this development, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç shared information regarding the content of the case and stated that the request was in the evaluation stage.
While reacting to Minister Tunç's statements, Türkeş had said, "Our Minister of Justice's statements regarding the content of the case in response to our request were neither elegant nor appropriate. The Minister of Justice should not hinder the pursuit of justice."
