Turgut Altınok presents document proving he does not own 600 properties in Antalya

Displaying a document obtained through the Land Registry and Cadastre Information System (TAKBİS) confirming that he does not own 600 properties in Antalya, Altınok said, "If the journalists who spread this slander and lie have any honor or dignity, they should apologize. If Mr. Yavaş has even a shred of honor, he should resign.

This is the official document from our state that refutes these claims and necessitates his resignation," he said.

Continuing his election campaign by greeting citizens from his campaign bus in Keçiören, Altınok later made assessments regarding the allegations that he owned 600 properties in Antalya.

Stating that slandering honorable people is immoral, Altınok said that a campaign of "lies, mud-slinging, and slander" was launched against him following his disclosure of his assets.

Altınok said, "However, all documents and evidence show that our assets have decreased. Many of these properties were inherited from our mother and father before I became mayor (of Keçiören) in 1994. Those with malicious intent judge everyone by themselves. They launched a campaign saying, 'He has 600 apartments in Antalya.' Therefore, they lied, threw mud, and slandered me," he said.

"THE MUD-SLINGING AND SLANDER CAMPAIGN STARTS WITH MR. YAVAŞ"

Recalling that he had announced he would resign if the claim that he had 600 apartments registered in his name in Antalya were proven, Altınok reacted to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş's defense of the allegations.

Expressing that the allegations against him were slander, Altınok said, "The mud-slinging and slander campaign naturally starts with Mr. Yavaş. Yavaş also made statements to the effect of, 'He has 600 apartments in Antalya, why didn't he declare them?'

I said, 'If I have 600 apartments in Antalya, let them produce the title deed in Turgut Altınok's name, and I will resign.' I am even ashamed to call those who claim to be 'members of the press' and who spread every lie they have during the election period journalists. The press should be objective and impartial. But they were not impartial and became part of a campaign of slander and lies," he stated.

"WE HAVE INITIATED LEGAL PROCEEDINGS"

Altınok explained that he had submitted a petition to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change's General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre to investigate the title deed records for any apartments registered in his name in Antalya and its districts.

Stating that the response to his petition reached him today, Altınok said:

"As a result of the petition I submitted, it was stated: 'Following the research and inquiry conducted using the T.C. identification number criteria on the Land Registry and Cadastre Information System (TAKBİS), which has been the common platform for all of Turkey since May 2, 2012, for Turgut Altınok, whose T.C. identification number was mentioned in the relevant petition, no real estate record was found within the borders of Antalya province and its districts.' I present this to the appreciation of the entire public. It is the document of who is a liar, a slanderer, a mud-slinger, and who is upright.

Those who have no words, works, projects, services, or vision for Ankara have launched a campaign of lies, mud, and slander. Therefore, those with a shred of honor will apologize. Of course, we have initiated both pecuniary and non-pecuniary legal proceedings regarding this. As you can see, all of them will be convicted.

The people of Ankara should know that on one side there is a clean candidate, and on the other side, there is a slanderous candidate mired in lies and mud. (Mansur Yavaş) He, of course, cannot account for the house he bought in London. He cannot account for the 25 million lira house he currently lives in. He bought both after becoming mayor. In other words, even if he were mayor for 25 years, he could not buy that house for 25 million lira."
