Turkey's poorest districts have been identified

The "Socioeconomic Level 2023" study, which evaluated more than 26 million households in Turkey, showed that district-based differences in terms of income, education, and living conditions have reached striking dimensions. According to the study, only 1.1 percent of households in the country were in the highest welfare group.

According to the findings of the study, the Çankaya district of Ankara reached the highest socioeconomic level in Turkey in terms of living standards, education level, and family opportunities. It was followed by the Kadıköy and Beşiktaş districts of Istanbul. These regions stood out with high income, educational opportunities, and social facilities.

In contrast, a large number of rural areas and districts with small populations were at the bottom of the list. It was emphasized that inequality in living standards has deepened between metropolitan cities and rural areas.

According to official data, the most socioeconomically disadvantaged district in Turkey was Çamoluk in Giresun. Households living in this district received the lowest scores in the study in terms of social and economic opportunities. It was noted that the other districts at the bottom of the study were similarly regions with small populations where infrastructure and social facilities are limited. These districts have significant deficiencies in terms of access to technology, education level, and income sources.
