Turkish Armed Forces conduct air operation in northern Iraq: 37 targets destroyed
The Ministry of National Defense announced that an air operation was carried out in northern Iraq. The statement noted that 37 targets, including caves, bunkers, shelters, depots, and facilities, were destroyed.
The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that an air operation was conducted by the Turkish Armed Forces in northern Iraq.
In a written statement from the Ministry, it was stated that the air operation was carried out against terrorist targets in the Metina, Gara, Hakurk, Kandil, and Asos regions, within the scope of the right to self-defense arising from Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, in order to neutralize PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements, eliminate terrorist attacks against the public and security forces from northern Iraq, and ensure border security.
It was reported that 37 targets, consisting of caves, bunkers, shelters, depots, and facilities, were destroyed during the operation.
The statement included the following remarks:
“The Turkish Armed Forces, which emerged from the bosom of our noble nation, will continue the fight against terrorism with determination and resolve until the last terrorist is neutralized, just as in the past, for the survival and security of our country and our nation. During this operation, every measure has been taken to ensure that innocent people, friendly elements, historical and cultural assets, and the environment are not harmed.”
