Turkish driver had lost his life: Footage of the truck hit by an Israeli missile emerges

29-year-old Hüseyin Fırat, who lived in the Bağlar neighborhood of Hatay's Reyhanlı district, was working as a truck driver—his father's profession—after leaving the military.

Fırat, who had set off for Afghanistan with a load from Istanbul, was severely injured when shrapnel from a missile that fell while he was reaching the Iranian city of Tabriz on his return journey struck his truck.

A 6-DAY STRUGGLE FOR LIFE

The severely injured Fırat was taken under treatment at Zanjan Hospital in Iran. However, the young driver lost his 6-day struggle for life at the hospital and passed away.

Following the completion of diplomatic procedures, Fırat's body was brought from Iran to the Reyhanlı district of Hatay. The young driver was laid to rest in tears on Friday, March 13, following the funeral prayer held at the Cemetery Complex.

FATHER FILMED THE SCENE

Father Coşkun Fırat, who was driving his own truck in front of his son's vehicle when the missile struck, recorded the scene of the incident with his mobile phone camera.

In the footage, it can be seen that the missile pierced the asphalt road, and it is understood that the shrapnel piece tore through the truck, causing damage and causing the vehicle to lose control and veer off the side of the road.

It was notable that father Fırat, who carries his son's shoes with him, pointed out the spot where he first found his child during the recording.
