TÜSES President Altan Ertürk arrested

TÜSES Board Chairman Altan Ertürk has been arrested as part of a fraud investigation. Following his processing at the police station, Ertürk was brought before a court and arrested; he is expected to appear before a judge in the coming days. TÜSES President Altan Ertürk arrested

According to information obtained from judicial sources, Altan Ertürk was referred to court following his processing at the police station as part of an investigation conducted by the prosecutor's office. Ertürk, who was arrested by the court, is expected to appear before a judge in the coming days once the indictment is prepared.

Following the news of the arrest, all eyes turned to TÜSES. The TÜSES Foundation stated that the incident is still recent and they would not be making an immediate statement. Altan Ertürk's name had previously come to the fore in the media world over allegations that he defrauded journalists and television personalities.

WHO IS ALTAN ERTÜRK?

Elected as the Chairman of the Board of TÜSES in 2024, Altan Ertürk had previously held the same position between 2012 and 2016.


The following statement was made by the TÜSES Board of Directors following the arrest

We have learned with sadness that our President, Altan Ertürk, was arrested on Wednesday, September 24.

Due to the confidentiality order on the file, we do not have further information regarding this situation, which leads us to believe it is one of the operations aimed at political pressure on local governments and dissidents.

We will share the information we obtain with you in the coming days.

We hope that our colleague and friend Altan Ertürk will regain his freedom as soon as possible.

We would like to announce to our members and friends that, with your support, TÜSES will continue its work in accordance with its purpose.
