Two CHP municipal council members resign from their party
In the Kula district of Manisa, CHP Municipal Council members Semra Gündüz and Hilal Çetinkaya have resigned from their party.
CHP council members Semra Gündüz and Hilal Çetinkaya, who did not attend the session after submitting an excuse petition prior to the Municipal Council meeting, announced that they have left the CHP following their decision.
It has been learned that Gündüz and Çetinkaya will continue their duties in the municipal council as independent members from now on.
Following the resignations, the distribution in the Kula Municipal Council has become CHP 7, MHP 4, AK Party 2, and Independent 2.
While no official statement has been made regarding why Gündüz and Çetinkaya resigned, it is alleged in political circles that internal party disagreements were influential in this decision.
It has become a matter of curiosity how the two individuals, who will continue to serve as independents in the Kula Municipal Council, will contribute to the council's work in the coming period.
