According to the information obtained, on the night of April 21, two metro trains used for training purposes, which were empty of passengers, collided head-on near the Fıstıkağacı station on the M5 Üsküdar-Samandıra metro line.
While there were no injuries or loss of life in the incident, congestion occurred at metro stations due to the ongoing work.
In a statement made on its 'X' account, Metro İstanbul stated, "In the incident that occurred on the night connecting April 21 to April 22 near the Fıstıkağacı Station of the M5 Üsküdar-Samandıra metro line, damage occurred to the couplings of the metro line as a result of the collision of two passengerless metro trains used for training purposes.
While repair work due to the damage continues, it was stated in the announcement made by Metro İstanbul that services will return to normal tomorrow morning."
