Two passengers who fought on plane receive lifetime ban
A dispute between two passengers on a flight from Antalya to Manchester escalated into a violent brawl. Following the incident, the plane made an emergency landing in Brussels, and the disruptive passengers were detained and banned from flying for life.
An unwanted incident occurred late last night on a Jet2 passenger aircraft operating the Antalya-Manchester flight. According to reports, a verbal argument that broke out between two passengers on the plane quickly escalated into a physical fight. Despite all efforts by other passengers and the cabin crew, the conflict could not be calmed, forcing the pilot to change course and make an emergency landing at Brussels Airport.
The moment of the incident was recorded second by second by another passenger's mobile phone camera. Following the emergency landing, Brussels police forces detained the two passengers involved in the incident. After the event, the plane continued its flight to Manchester as planned.
In an official statement from Jet2, the following assessments were made: "Our Antalya-Manchester flight LS896 was diverted to Brussels due to the appalling behavior of two passengers. These two passengers were removed from the aircraft by police, and our flight continued to Manchester. We are imposing a lifetime flight ban on the passengers in question. Furthermore, we will recover all costs incurred due to this diversion from them. As a family-friendly airline, we have a zero-tolerance policy toward behavior that disrupts passenger comfort."
The airline emphasized that they will apply the harshest sanctions against such behavior that endangers flight safety.
