Ümit Özdağ issues challenge over Öcalan and claims snap election is coming

Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ has effectively issued a challenge regarding MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's recent remarks about terrorist leader Öcalan and the DEM Party. Arguing that Öcalan coming to Parliament would be an insult to the Turkish people, Özdağ said, "Öcalan will not be able to come to that villa in Incek, Ankara, as some have suggested; he will die in İmralı." Özdağ's claim regarding a snap election also drew attention.

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call for terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan continues to remain on the agenda.

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ made statements on many issues on the agenda, ranging from the economic situation to claims of an early election, in addition to Bahçeli's remarks on Öcalan.

MINIMUM WAGE HIKE

Responding to questions from Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk, Özdağ said the following regarding the minimum wage:

"No matter what raise is given to the minimum wage, a minimum wage without purchasing power has no value. Food inflation is high. To stop this, the entry of foreigners must be prevented. The wrong policies applied in agriculture must end, the metropolitan law must be changed, and the return to villages must be re-planned. Where and how agriculture will be done, production with purchase guarantees, and ensuring food security are major needs for Turkey."

"90% OF THE PUBLIC SAYS 'REFUGEES SHOULD GO'"

Responding to the question, "Does the Zafer Party have no other concern than refugees?" Özdağ said, "If we cannot protect our borders, is it possible for us to ensure security? Polls also show that 90 percent of our people want the refugees to return to their homelands."

"ÖCALAN WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COME TO THAT VILLA, HE WILL DIE IN İMRALI"

Evaluating MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's remarks regarding terrorist leader Öcalan and the DEM Party, the Zafer Party leader said, "Bringing Öcalan to the veteran Parliament does not ensure national unity; on the contrary, it is an insult to the Turkish Nation and the Turkish state. Öcalan will not be able to come to that villa in Incek, Ankara, as some have suggested; he will die in İmralı."

"AK PARTY'S INTENTION IS A SNAP ELECTION"

Claiming that the AKP's intention is a snap election, Özdağ said, "They aim to reduce the dosage of the crisis with financial measures and go to a snap election. They are relying on loans they will find from the West by making political and geopolitical concessions."
