Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ participated in the "Taksim Meydanı" program with Gürkan Hacır and made the following statements:

I learned about this incident in May 2021. The conversation did not take place between me and Meral Akşener, but between Meral Akşener and the owner of the polling company who was serving as Akşener's political advisor at the time, and as the political advisor for the IYI Party. When I left the IYI Party, this friend of ours came to our office. He made this statement to me.

DID MERAL AKŞENER THREATEN HIM?

Meral Hanım later called this friend and threatened him. I told the story without ever mentioning this friend's name.

When asked, "Meral Hanım is reportedly going to file a lawsuit against you, and you say, 'She is going to file a lawsuit, I am glad she is filing a lawsuit. Let's talk about this.' If you end up in court, will you share the name of the person who shared this information with you?" Özdağ replied, "Of course I will share it. I will also invite them as a witness."

I argued alone that this was wrong and that the IYI Party should enter the election alone, and I said that if we form an election alliance with the CHP, we will face accusations of forming an alliance with the HDP. They said no, and the election alliance was formed. When the Nation Alliance was established, the People's Alliance was re-established. The architect of the People's Alliance is Meral Akşener.

In the polls conducted, the IYI Party was in the 19-20% band. The CHP was in the 20% band. 7.5% of the votes had left the AK Party and come to the IYI Party.
