A coal cellar set on fire by a youth who could not get the money he wanted from his mother in Kayseri was extinguished by fire crews.

According to allegations, 17-year-old C.S. set the coal cellar of a 3-story apartment building on fire in the Esenyurt neighborhood of the Melikgazi district after failing to get the money he demanded from his mother.

Upon notification, numerous fire and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

Due to the fire, smoke filled some apartments on the upper floors, and the residents of the building were evacuated by fire crews.

Four people affected by smoke inhalation during the fire were treated in an ambulance. The fire was extinguished by the crews in a short time.

Police took the suspect C.S. into custody.

Meanwhile, a cat and a budgie trapped in the apartments were taken outside by their owners to prevent them from being affected by the smoke.
