University student falls victim to 'jealousy' murder
In the Karabağlar district of İzmir, a young man was stabbed to death by his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend during an argument over 'jealousy'.
The incident occurred around 16:30 on 5714/42 Street in the Sarıyer neighborhood of the Karabağlar district.
According to allegations, while Nebi Özdemir (22) was on the street with his girlfriend, whose name has not been disclosed, the girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, O.G. (19), approached them.
STABBED MULTIPLE TIMES
During an argument that allegedly broke out due to jealousy, O.G. stabbed the university student Özdemir multiple times in various parts of his body with a knife he was carrying.
Özdemir, who received initial medical intervention from 112 Emergency Health teams arriving at the scene upon notification, lost his life despite all efforts at the Bozyaka Training and Research Hospital, where he had been taken.
The Public Security Branch Directorate's Murder Bureau teams, who launched an operation to apprehend the suspect who fled the scene, captured O.G. in the Güzelbahçe district along with the weapon used in the crime.
While the detained suspect was taken to the police station, it was learned that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
