Venezuelan President Maduro calls on UN to 'stop the bombing in Gaza'

Speaking on state television, Maduro stated, "As Venezuela, we reiterate our call for solidarity with the Palestinian people and remind the world of the Palestinian reality. We demand that a ceasefire be achieved immediately, that the bombing in Gaza stop, and that negotiations be held based on UN agreements."

Recalling that Venezuela has supported the Palestinian cause from the beginning, Maduro added, "We want the ongoing massacres against the Palestinian people to stop. We want peace, we want equality, and we want a two-state solution."

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil also stated in a post on his social media account that he held a video conference with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki and demanded an end to the blockade and siege imposed on the people of Gaza.

Gil said, "We held a video conference with Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki, who informed us about the ongoing genocide by Israel in Gaza and the dire situation in the Gaza Strip. As the Bolivarian government, we are coordinating with Palestinian authorities, along with other countries, to provide humanitarian logistical support to the civilian population affected by Israel's attacks."

ISRAEL-PALESTINE CONFLICT

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed "Al-Aqsa Flood."

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel, Palestinian armed groups raided and seized the Beit Hanoun-Erez Border Crossing on the Gaza-Israel border.

The armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel, and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.

It was reported that 1,300 Israelis lost their lives and 3,436 were injured in the attacks launched from Gaza.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 1,900 people, including 614 children and 370 women, had lost their lives and 7,696 people had been injured in Israel's attacks on Gaza.

Additionally, it was stated that 51 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank since October 7 in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers.
