Verdict announced in inhumane incident

In the Suluova district of Amasya, following the spread of footage on social media from the Kral Et Entegre facility,  the gendarmerie and teams from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry took action. Following inspections at the facility, I.T., N.T., H.S., E.Ç., and A.A. were apprehended and taken into custody.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç,  announced in a statement on his social media account regarding the matter that the 5 individuals taken into custody have been arrested.

Minister Tunç in his post "In the Suluova district of Amasya, the abuse of a bovine animal prior to slaughter at a meat processing facility is an absolutely unacceptable situation. Immediately following the incident, an investigation was launched by the Suluova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in accordance with Article 14 of the Animal Protection Law No. 5199. The 5 suspects detained within the scope of the investigation have been arrested." he stated.

WHAT HAPPENED?

At a meat processing facility in Amasya, two employees struck a bovine animal that had become restless before slaughter repeatedly on the head with an axe to stun it, while another stabbed the animal several times with a knife.

The moments, which were captured on a mobile phone, were shared on social media, and 5 people were detained in connection with the incident. Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that the 5 suspects had been arrested. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that an investigation had been launched into the individuals who abused the animal with sharp objects and the facility itself.
