Verdict in the reinstatement case of the lieutenants' commander

Legal proceedings continue regarding the soldiers dismissed as part of the investigation launched after the "sword-crossing" incident that occurred at the Military Academy's graduation ceremony on August 30, 2024.

Previously, the dismissal decision against Lieutenant Deniz Demirtaş, one of the lieutenants who recited the Officer's Oath and chanted the slogan "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" during the ceremony, was annulled by the court, and Demirtaş was reinstated to his duty.

However, a different decision was reached for Lieutenant Ebru Eroğlu, who was tried in the same process. The Ankara 4th Administrative Court rejected the request for the annulment of the dismissal decision by the High Disciplinary Board of the Land Forces Command and did not approve Eroğlu's return to the TAF.

REINSTATEMENT DECISION FOR ERTÜRK

Major Murat Ertürk, the company commander of the lieutenants dismissed as part of the investigation, also saw his case return from the judiciary. The Ankara 14th Administrative Court unanimously decided to reinstate Ertürk to his duty.

According to journalist Ersin Eroğlu, with this decision, two of the three dismissed commanders have returned to the Turkish Armed Forces.

Previously, Colonel Alper Topsakal had also won the lawsuit he filed and was reinstated to his duty. It was learned that the decision in the case filed regarding Lieutenant Colonel Halit Türkoğlu has not yet been served.
