Veto to alliance from Ali Babacan: 'We are entering with our own candidates'
DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan has decided to enter the local elections with his own staff after failing to achieve the desired results in alliance negotiations as the process toward the local elections continues.
DEVA Party Leader Ali Babacan announced that as the process narrows toward the local elections, they will enter the elections with their own staff without forming an alliance, following the negative outcome of his negotiations.
Turkey is preparing for elections once again. Voters will head to the polls on March 31. In this context, activities in the political arena are continuing without slowing down.
Following the IYI Party, another veto to an alliance came from DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan. Holding a press conference in Gaziantep, Babacan stated, "Everyone must have heard it by now, but I will say it here anyway. If there is anyone who hasn't heard, let them hear; if there is anyone who doesn't know, let them learn. The DEVA Party is entering the upcoming March 31 elections with its own name, its own logo, and its own candidates."
Babacan held negotiations during this process. However, after failing to get the result he wanted in the meetings, he officially announced their decision to enter the elections without an alliance. Stating, "I see the possibility of them negotiating with us again as very weak," Babacan had used the following expressions in his statements made in recent days: "Will they come to the point of concluding that one of the most important arguments they used against Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu was wrong and say, 'Oh, we made a mistake, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu was right. A greater unity was truly necessary,' and will they negotiate with us again? I see that possibility as very weak. Because in a very short time, they will be in a position of contradicting themselves."
