Vice President Yılmaz on 'terror-free Turkey': 'A new phase has been reached'

Stating that they are working toward the goal of a 'terror-free Turkey,' Yılmaz announced that Turkey has entered a new phase. According to Yılmaz, the PKK has officially entered a disarmament process. Yılmaz added that the government is monitoring developments and noted that Turkey has faced many problems due to terrorism until now.

In a post on his social media account, Yılmaz evaluated the PKK's ceasefire decision. Emphasizing that the economy has suffered greatly due to the terrorism problem, Yılmaz claimed that the terrorism issue has reached the stage of ending thanks to the 'Century of Turkey' vision of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

Emphasizing a 'democratic Turkey' in his statement, Yılmaz used the following expressions: 

'A new phase has been reached toward the goal of a terror-free Turkey, and a call for the terrorist organization to dissolve itself has been made by its founder. We will carefully monitor this new phase and its concrete reflections on the ground together with our relevant institutions.'

Yılmaz also stated that the terrorism problem 'will be solved very soon,' and noted the following:

''Finally, a new phase has been reached toward the goal of a terror-free Turkey, and a call for the terrorist organization to dissolve itself has been made by its founder. We will carefully monitor this new phase and its concrete reflections on the ground together with our relevant institutions. We hope that this opportunity will be utilized, this effort will be successfully concluded quickly, and the traps of those who make plans with imperial ambitions over our region will be thwarted in the shortest way possible.''

'PKK SHOULD NOT SET CONDITIONS TO DISSOLVE ITSELF'

Yılmaz stated that the terrorist organization must dissolve itself unconditionally. Reminding that 'external powers' have used the PKK against Turkey, Yılmaz said that if the organization disbands, Turkey will enter a democratic phase.

Stating that Turkey deserves 'democratic civil politics,' Yılmaz included the following expressions in his post:

''In addition to the direct damage caused by terrorism, the blow it has dealt to economic and social development and its negative impact on the investment environment are clear. From agriculture to tourism, energy to mining, and education to health, terrorism has lowered our country's potential and the welfare of our people.

Provocative terrorist acts have served the interests of tutelage centers and coup-plotting mentalities with roots abroad.

As we have always emphasized, terrorism and democratic civil politics cannot coexist. No democratic state of law in the world would allow this. Our noble nation, which has taught the whole world the culture of living together with its historical experience, deserves a democratic civil politics that is not in the shadow of terrorism, by seeing differences as wealth rather than a subject of conflict.

The terrorist organization dissolving itself without any bargaining involved carries the meaning of a new environment and era in terms of development and democracy, as well as in the field of security.''
