4.3 magnitude earthquake in Malatya
A 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Doğanşehir district of Malatya. Malatya Governor Ersin Yazıcı informed the public by making a statement on his social media account.
According to information on the website of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a 4.3 magnitude tremor was recorded at 12:23 PM with its epicenter in Malatya Doğanşehir.
It was determined that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 17.7 kilometers.
District residents experienced anxiety due to the earthquake. Some citizens in buildings and businesses headed to empty and safe areas upon feeling the tremor.
FIELD SURVEYS ARE UNDERWAY
Malatya Governor Ersin Yazıcı, in a statement on the social media platform X, said, "Following the 4.3 magnitude earthquake centered in Doğanşehir, all teams from AFAD and our relevant institutions have been directed to conduct field surveys. May God protect our country and our nation from disasters."
Doğanşehir Mayor Durali Zelyurt stated in a written announcement that there are currently no negative reports in the district.
