42 international criminals from 12 countries captured in simultaneous operations across 13 provinces
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 42 international criminals from 12 countries were captured in the simultaneous "KAFES-31" operation conducted across 13 provinces.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account, "With the 'KAFES-31' operation carried out simultaneously in 13 of our provinces, 42 individuals sought by 12 countries via INTERPOL Red Notices and Diffusion Messages have been captured. The operation is ongoing."
Minister Yerlikaya further added in his post, "No matter the scale, no matter the notice under which they are sought, we will not give any breathing room to international organized crime syndicates or drug traffickers who disturb the peace of our people. We will put them all into the cage one by one."
It was determined that the individuals captured in the operation had arrest records for crimes including membership in an organized crime syndicate, illegal arms trafficking, drug trafficking, intentional homicide, migrant smuggling, qualified and financial fraud, robbery and theft, forgery of official documents, and tax evasion.
Since January 1, 2024, including today's Kafes operations, 114 individuals sought with Red Notices have been captured.
Minister Yerlikaya congratulated the police officers who carried out the operations, stating, "May God protect them from any harm. Our nation's prayers are with you."
Yerlikaya also added, "The breath of our state is always on the necks of terrorists and their collaborators, organized crime syndicates, drug traffickers, and criminal hubs, and it will continue to be so."
