Ahmet Davutoğlu speaks at group meeting: 'I brought peace to the Middle East'

Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, in his speech at the Saadet-Future Party joint group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, stated that he tried to bring peace everywhere he went during his time in office and used the following expressions:

"I landed in Belgrade, I solved the problems between Serbia and Bosnia. I landed in Iran, I made the most important agreement in history regarding the nuclear crisis. I landed in Iraq, I reconciled the Shiites and the Sunnis. I landed in Damascus, I initiated the talks between Israel and Syria. I landed in Gaza, I ended the Gaza war. Now I am continuing my calls again." 

'NETANYAHU HAD APOLOGIZED, NOW HE IS ACTING ARROGANTLY'

Stating that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had apologized to Turkey during his own prime ministry and is now attacking 'arrogantly', Davutoğlu said, "After the Mavi Marmara, we followed such a policy that on March 21, 2013, the base, barbaric Netanyahu of today apologized to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey over Obama's phone. He read the text written by John Kerry to me. Now the same Netanyahu is attacking Turkey arrogantly. Because you have no deterrence left".

'YOUTH HAVE FALLEN INTO A SPIRITUAL VOID'

Davutoğlu also evaluated the recent violent incidents as follows: 

"There is a dimension of moral collapse. And there is a collapse of public order. What we have experienced recently points to a moral collapse. There are signs of moral collapse, and a very serious moral collapse is currently being experienced in Turkey. So, what is the reason for this spiritual void? Now I look at social media; different segments are blaming each other. The conservative segment talks about the detachment from religion, while the other side talks about the collapse here by saying, 'You have already been in power for 22 years'. Morality is not words, morality is state of being. If people look at you and you set a good example with your state of being, from that moment on, a turn towards religion and morality begins. It is said that this young murderer also received education at an imam hatip school for a while; it does not matter which school it was. If this youth has fallen into a spiritual void, we will first make self-criticism. This issue is not the issue of any social segment. This issue is not something that can be explained by saying 'Technology is corrupting humanity's morality'. Now think about it; young people are turning to Satanism, deism, and many social media platforms behind these murders. Why this spiritual collapse? Because young people have started to hold religion responsible due to the mistakes they see in those who say 'I represent religion'. We have to see this."
