Attack on Women's Studies Club general assembly meeting

In Adana, students who are members of the Çukurova University Women's Studies Club gathered at the university's congress center today for their general assembly meeting. A group of approximately 40 Ülkücü students raided the general assembly and attacked the students.

POLICE DID NOT INTERVENE

The students attending the general assembly attempted to escape the attack by locking the door to a room in the congress center. The Ülkücü students forced the door, kicking it while shouting "come out." The students stated that neither the police nor the security guards intervened in the attack.

SECURITY GUARD LAUGHED AT THE ATTACKED STUDENTS

It was observed that security guards laughed while the attacked students were explaining the incident to them. One female student reacted by saying, "You are saying as if you are mocking us that their complaints will be taken. Are you protecting us or them?"

A male student also said, "You protected them. Do you believe you are doing your job?" Another female student expressed her reaction to what happened by saying, "You are allowing this, you are enabling it. You are supporting them." Another male student added, "10 people attacked one person here. This is an organized attack."

The students who were attacked were taken to the police station by the police.

Following the attack on the Çukurova University Women's Studies Club's general assembly meeting, a second attack took place. While our comrades are being clearly targeted, neither security nor the police are doing anything yet.
