Criminal complaint filed against woman who insulted Atatürk
A video featuring a woman making severe insults toward Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has sparked widespread outrage on social media. Lawyer Buse Aydemir Arazlı filed a criminal complaint, stating, "The real problem is the environment that encourages this language of hate."
A video circulating on social media has become a focal point of controversy due to remarks insulting Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founding leader of Turkey. A woman, who described herself as "nationalist and conservative," attacked Atatürk with severe language while aware she was being filmed.
In the video, the woman used phrases such as, "Atatürk is not my ancestor, I hate that Jewish dog," and "Atatürk is a Masonic scoundrel, he did nothing." Following the rapid spread of the video, social media users tagged Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and the General Directorate of Security, calling for the woman to be punished.
"THE GROUND THAT GIVES THIS COURAGE IS MORE DANGEROUS"
One of the individuals reacting to the woman's statements was lawyer Buse Aydemir Arazlı. Arazlı, who filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office, stated, "I am more afraid of the environment that gives this woman the courage to say these words than I am of the woman herself. That is exactly why we must speak up."
