Cübbeli Ahmet speaks out on elections this time: 'Hold them every 10-20 years'

Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known as Cübbeli Ahmet, has made a highly controversial proposal as local elections approach. 

Appearing as a guest on Ulusal Kanal, Cübbeli Ahmet said, "Elections are ruining us," adding, "If you didn't have the worry of elections for 10 or 20 years, whatever happens to the economy would happen; those who die of hunger would die, and only then would you understand the importance of production."

Ünlü also stated the following:

"WE CANNOT SAVE THE HOMELAND AND THE NATION WITH THIS MINDSET"

"Actually, we could stop Gaza right now. If we were willing to risk certain things, we could stop the attacks in Gaza. But we cannot risk it, why? The economy would deteriorate. If the economy deteriorates, the election is lost. The whole issue stems from here. This cannot go on like this. We cannot save the homeland and the nation with this mindset."

"ONE SHOULD NOT THINK ABOUT ELECTIONS"

"With elections every 4 years, every 2 years, no matter how nationalistic a leader is, no matter how much they are against the Jews, Americans, or imperialism, they inevitably make concessions out of fear of losing votes from the public. The only way not to make these concessions is to not think about elections at all."

"A horizon without the worry of upcoming elections will open up. At this point, a stand will be taken against them. After that, whatever happens in the economy will happen, people will die of hunger... Only then will you understand the importance of production. "NO PROJECT WILL SUCCEED HERE"

"No matter how nationalistic the government is, it is forced to make concessions against some demands of the US, the EU, and NATO by risking the election. Because they fear that if the economy deteriorates further, they will lose everything."

"This is our problem. Things cannot work with this election system. We need something that doesn't fear elections. Municipal elections every 4 years, presidential elections every 3 years... No project will succeed here," he said.
