Fire starting in engine compartment engulfs bus

The incident occurred around 00:00 on Bulgurlu Street in the Kısıklı neighborhood. According to the information obtained, flames began to rise from the engine compartment of the IETT bus, license plate 34 GA 3896, operating on the 129T Taksim - Bostancı line, while it was in motion under the direction of driver Fatih Özen.

Although driver Özen attempted to intervene in the flames with a fire extinguisher, he was unsuccessful.

Upon realizing the situation, passengers were evacuated from the bus, and police and fire crews were dispatched to the scene.

Fire crews intervened in the burning bus with water and foam. After the teams' efforts, the fire was extinguished, but the bus was rendered unusable.

While there were no deaths or injuries in the incident, the burnt-out bus was removed from the scene by a crane. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
