Yesterday, in the Akçaburgaz neighborhood of Esenyurt, Enes Ali Ç., a cargo company driver operating a vehicle with the license plate 34 LS 0371, struck and killed 3-year-old Ö.K., who was playing in the street with their mother, before locking himself in the vehicle and taking his own life. Security camera footage of the moment of the incident has emerged.

DRIVER WENT INTO SHOCK

In the security camera footage of the incident, little Ö.K. is seen walking around the vehicle while their mother is nearby on the street, as Enes Ali Çakmak returns to the vehicle after delivering a package to a house. As Çakmak starts the vehicle and begins to move, little Ö.K., not realizing the vehicle is starting, walks in front of it. Çakmak, failing to see the 3-year-old child, runs them over and then gets out of the vehicle upon realizing what happened. The footage shows the mother throwing herself to the ground in a crisis upon seeing the situation, while the driver is seen jumping in a state of extreme shock. Although Ö.K. was rushed to the hospital, they lost their life despite all interventions. The driver, Enes Ali Çakmak, then locked himself in the cargo vehicle and took his own life.
