He killed his friend and drove around with the body for a day and a half: Betting dispute ends in bloodshed
In Kocaeli, a murder suspect confessed to driving around with his friend's body for a day and a half after killing him. The incident occurred following an argument over the distribution of betting winnings.
In the Gebze district of Kocaeli, 49-year-old Murat Yüzak went missing after leaving his home on February 5. When his family could not reach him, they filed a missing person report. As a result of an investigation into the last people Yüzak had been in contact with, individuals identified as R.G. and M.A. were taken into custody.

Yüzak's lifeless body was found in a wooded area, covered with brush. The body was taken to the forensic morgue for an autopsy. Within the scope of the investigation, suspect M.A. was released, while R.G. was arrested.

In his statement to the prosecutor, the arrested suspect R.G. stated that he and Yüzak had been placing bets and had a disagreement over how to share their winnings. R.G. confessed to strangling Yüzak to death during the argument, adding that he kept the body in his vehicle for 36 hours before leaving it in the wooded area.

While the investigation into the incident continues, R.G.'s statement provided significant details regarding how the murder took place. The suspect's act of driving around with the body for such a long time drew attention. Yüzak's family is waiting for the judicial process to proceed swiftly.
