How the Anatolian Side thieves were caught: Button pressed after 7 reports

Teams from the Istanbul Public Security Branch Office's Auto Theft Bureau launched an investigation after receiving 7 separate reports of license plate and auto theft on the Anatolian Side between January 11 and January 29.

After attempting a theft in Tuzla on January 29, the 3 thieves were caught and detained by police while fleeing the scene. Ümit I., who has 14 criminal records; Emrah Y., who has 21 criminal records; and Emre A., who has 21 criminal records, 5 outstanding warrants, and a finalized prison sentence of 3 years and 8 months, were referred to the Anatolian Courthouse following their interrogation at the Public Security Branch Office's Auto Theft Bureau. The 3 thieves were arrested and sent to prison.

It was revealed that the 3 thieves caught in Tuzla by the Public Security Branch Office's Auto Theft Bureau teams were responsible for the theft of a Peugeot 3008 belonging to B.Ö. in Maltepe on 11.01.2024 (vehicle recovered); theft from a residence belonging to K.A. in Tuzla on 15.01.2024; theft of license plates from a vehicle belonging to C.K. in Pendik on 15.01.2024; theft of license plates from an automobile belonging to R.Ö. in Pendik on 18.01.2024; theft of license plates from a vehicle belonging to N.Ç. in Pendik on 29.01.2024; the attempted theft in Tuzla on 29.01.2024, the day they were caught; and theft from a residence belonging to E.A. in Gebze on 18.01.2024.
