AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's advisor, Ayhan Ogan, made statements regarding the current agenda during a live broadcast.

Speaking on TV1, which broadcasts in Kayseri, Ogan attributed the loss of votes by the People's Alliance in the general and local elections to HÜDA PAR and the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi). Emphasizing that it was a mistake to include both parties in the alliance, Ogan stated the following:

“The base from which the AK Party receives votes, the sociology from which it receives votes, and the sociology from which the People's Alliance receives votes are clear. This does not go elsewhere, it does not vote for another party. If it gets very angry, it does not go to the ballot box. If it gets very angry, it does not vote for the AK Party, it votes for the MHP. If that doesn't happen, it votes for another party in the People's Alliance. At that time, the New Welfare Party was also in the People's Alliance. I think it was a wrong choice. It was wrong for both the New Welfare Party and HÜDA PAR to be with us.”

“IT WOULD BE BETTER IF ARINÇ KEPT HIS VOICE DOWN”

TV1 News Chief Tolga Yılmaz asked Ogan the following question: “Regarding the fact that İmamoğlu has still not been tried since March, Bülent Arınç, one of the founders of the AKP and former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, said, ‘People might perceive this as a setup; he should be tried as soon as possible.’ Devlet Bahçeli also demanded a fair trial. Do you think this process has dragged on too long?”

Reacting harshly to Arınç, Ogan said, “If it were up to Mr. Arınç, we would release all the criminals. It would be better if Mr. Arınç kept his voice down.”
