Imamoglu shares post on 'Republic's 100th anniversary' event
Celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the Republic have begun. Citizens in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya filled the streets with flags in their hands.
People in many cities flocked to the streets with flags for the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu shared footage of people welcoming the Republic with enthusiasm at the Istanbul Maltepe rally area.
''HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS ARE IN MALTEPE''
In a post on his social media account, Imamoglu said, ''The Celebration of the Century is going magnificently. Hundreds of thousands are currently in Maltepe. Our October 29 celebration will be the most crowded and magnificent celebration in history. We are all in Maltepe.''
