Mansur Yavaş shares post featuring Atatürk poster and Turkish flag
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş shared a post on his social media account featuring the Turkish flag and an Atatürk poster.
Following the disrespect shown toward Atatürk in Saudi Arabia and the subsequent cancellation of the Super Cup match, very harsh reactions have risen from many segments of society in Turkey.
After the refusal to allow the display of Atatürk posters and for the teams to take the field in jerseys featuring Atatürk's image, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe made the decision not to take the field.
While this stance displayed by both teams received widespread appreciation, a notable move also came from the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

Mayor Mansur Yavaş added the note "We are adorning the street where the Saudi Arabian Embassy is located with our flag and Atatürk posters. How happy is the one who says I am a Turk" to the video he shared on his social media account.
The CHP-run Istanbul Beşiktaş Municipality had also previously decided to change the name of the street where the Saudi Arabian Consulate General in Istanbul is located.
