In a mine collapse at a facility operated by a private mining company in Zonguldak, one of two workers was rescued alive. The lifeless body of the other worker was recovered after 5 hours.
According to the information obtained, around 9:00 PM last night at a private mine operated by the Akkurt Mining Company in the Ayiçi neighborhood of the Gelik town in Kilimli district a collapse occurred.
Rescue efforts were launched for miners Erdem Yıldız and Murat Çetinkaya, who were trapped under the rubble. The worker named Erdem Yıldız was rescued alive after approximately an hour and a half of work.
After 5 hours of work, the teams reached the lifeless body of Murat Çetinkaya. Çetinkaya's lifeless body was placed in a body bag and carried to an ambulance.
Meanwhile, his family, who were waiting at the entrance of the mine, suffered nervous breakdowns upon seeing the lifeless body of the 45-year-old miner. The Governor of Zonguldak
While Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu was consoling the family, the lifeless body of Murat Çetinkaya was taken to the morgue at Atatürk State Hospital.
Meanwhile, the treatment of Erdem Yıldız is ongoing.
