Minister Yerlikaya faces 'trustee' protest: Fight breaks out during budget talks
Tense moments and a scuffle occurred during the Ministry of Interior's budget negotiations as Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya faced protests over the appointment of trustees.
Tensions flared at the Turkish Grand National Assembly's Planning and Budget Committee as deliberations began on the Ministry of Interior's 2025 budget proposal. Ali Yerlikaya, who arrived for the Budget Committee meetings, was met with protests from members of parliament.
THEY DID NOT WANT TO LET YERLİKAYA INTO THE HALL
Due to the appointment of trustees, CHP deputies formed a barricade in front of Minister Yerlikaya, attempting to prevent him from entering the hall. The CHP members stated, "You did not let us into the Esenyurt Municipality, so we will not let you into the Parliament."
SHOVING MATCH BETWEEN YERLİKAYA AND BAŞARIR
A heated argument took place at the entrance of the hall between CHP's Ali Mahir Başarır and Minister Yerlikaya.
The two individuals engaged in a chest-to-chest shoving match amidst the scuffle. Başarır reacted by saying, "Who are you pushing?"
