Plainclothes police officer attacks IETT bus driver in Eyüpsultan
A person who boarded an IETT bus in Eyüpsultan and is alleged to be a plainclothes police officer attacked the bus driver with punches, claiming the driver gave a rude response to elderly female passengers. The incident was recorded second-by-second by security cameras.
The incident occurred yesterday around 16:30 at the Mareşal Fevzi Çakmak stop in Eyüpsultan. According to reports, two elderly women boarded the IETT bus.
The elderly women who boarded the bus asked the driver, "Are you going straight or crooked?"
The bus driver replied to the women who asked the question, "I am going straight, how could I go crooked?"
STARTED AN ARGUMENT WITH THE DRIVER
A person on the IETT bus, who is alleged to be a plainclothes police officer, began arguing with the driver following the response he gave.
Shortly after the argument began, the police officer attacked the bus driver with punches despite the intervention of a bystander.
In the footage captured by the security camera, the driver was seen trying to protect himself with his hands.
The driver, who was subjected to repeated punches, was rescued by other citizens who intervened. The incident ended when the passengers on the bus forced the police officer to get off.
