Police stop suspicious vehicle and conduct search: Drugs found inside stuffed peppers

In Istanbul, 'Yunus' motorcycle police units have become a nightmare for drug dealers due to their detailed searches during vehicle inspections.

In an attempt to evade the Yunus police during these inspections, drug users and dealers have begun employing various concealment methods to avoid being caught. The latest example of this occurred yesterday in Sarıyer.

DRUGS FOUND INSIDE STUFFED PEPPERS

The Yunus police officers conducting inspections stopped a car on suspicion. After having the driver step out, the officers conducted a detailed search of the vehicle. When they opened the lid of a water bottle, they discovered two small packages of drugs. Continuing their thorough search, the officers were stunned when they opened the 'bell peppers' found inside a bag.

ARRESTED

It was revealed that the suspect, attempting to smuggle drugs through police checkpoints, had placed the packaged narcotics inside the bell peppers. The suspect was taken into custody and brought to the Sarıyer District Police Department.

Following his statement at the police station, the suspect, identified as A.S., was arrested by the court on charges of "manufacturing and trafficking of narcotic substances."
