Simultaneous counterfeit alcohol operation in 81 provinces: 187 tons of counterfeit alcohol and ethyl alcohol seized

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya shared the details of the "Çengel-5" operations, which were carried out simultaneously across 81 provinces, via X.

In his post, Yerlikaya stated the following:

"Legal action was taken against 220 individuals in the 'ÇENGEL-5' operations, which were held simultaneously in 81 provinces to prevent the trade of illicit/counterfeit alcoholic beverages! 187 tons of illicit/counterfeit alcohol and ethyl alcohol were seized! A tax loss of 35 million TL was prevented!

During the operations, 15,000 liters of ethyl alcohol, 188,000 liters of illicit/counterfeit alcoholic beverages, 6,100 bottles of illicit/counterfeit alcoholic beverages, 1,300 empty bottles, 7,700 excise stamps, 2,100 alcohol flavorings, and 8,700 labels were seized. 12 illicit alcohol production facilities were uncovered.

Provincial units of the Revenue Administration also participated in the operation. In a joint assessment with the Revenue Administration, a tax loss of 35 million TL was prevented."
