Storm continues in Istanbul: Building roof collapses in Kağıthane
Due to the strong winds and rain affecting Istanbul, the roof of a building was blown off. Fire and police teams were dispatched to the scene, but fortunately, there were no deaths or injuries. The incident occurred around 04:00 in Semavi Street, Talatpaşa Neighborhood, Kağıthane. Following warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology, severe wind and rain intensified throughout the night in Istanbul.
Istanbul-wide severe wind and rain caused the roof of a building to be blown off. Fire and police teams, who were quickly dispatched to the scene, determined that there were no deaths or injuries, fortunately.
The incident occurred around 04:00 in Semavi Street, Talatpaşa Neighborhood, Kağıthane.
Under the influence of strong winds and rain, the roof of a six-story building in the Talatpaşa Neighborhood of Kağıthane fell onto parked cars on the street, causing damage.
A citizen in the adjacent building who saw the roof fly off immediately called the fire department and police to report the incident. Upon arriving at the scene, fire and police teams took security measures in the area, while the fire department secured other parts of the roof that posed a potential danger.
DAMAGED CARS
Parts that detached from the roof fell onto vehicles with license plates 34 FB 5355 and 34 FAP 185 parked on the street. While there were no deaths or injuries in the incident, material damage occurred to the vehicles and the building. Police teams closed the street to pedestrian and vehicle traffic, while fire crews removed the debris from the roof from the scene.
